If hip packs and enduro straps aren’t minimalist enough for you, then there’s a new opportunity to relieve your pockets of stuff and stash it on your bike: the EnCase system from Wolf Tooth. This sleeve allows you to carry a multitool, tubeless tyre plug set and chain breaker in your handlebars.

Fitting both road and mountain bike bars, the EnCase sleeve uses a rubber flap which you cut to match your bars. You’ll need to use grips which have a removable bar end, as the sleeve includes its own bar end. The whole system is available as the ‘Encase System Bar Kit’ for £127 from UK distributor Saddleback. This includes two sleeves, and both tools.

If you’re the kind of person who forgets to take their tools with them, perhaps this is a winning solution? Or maybe you really really hate wearing a bag? Or perhaps you just appreciate neat little gadgets and widgets that fit together just so. The Wolf Tooth EnCase system is available now from Saddleback.
I’ve still got a Cool Tool that goes in the bar. Was a lot cheaper than this set up.
nice idea, but the price is a bit steep..
What next? Fill your frame with water to save carrying a Camelback?
Great idea, but you’d have to really hate carrying stuff – and if you’ve got multiple bikes?
Barintool is a cheaper option but no chain splitter
