Pro Freerider Jordie Lunn Dies In Mexico Trail Crash

Famous Canadian free rider, Jordie Lunn has died of a head injury while riding in Mexico with Darren Berrecloth, Greg Watts and Brayden Barrett-Hay.

Famous for his early roles in classic mtb films such as The Collective & Roam, Jordie Lunn, from Parksville, B.C started his career in DH as a pro rider in the early 2000’s. A regular at Crankworx and Red Bull Rampage, Lunn gained more recent fame for his exploits in his self filmed series Rough AF.

On Wednesday, October 9, 2019, Jordie was trail riding in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with friends.

We are shattered to inform you, a simple but tragic accident occurred and Jordie sustained a fatal head injury.

Jordie lost his life doing exactly what he loved.

Jordie had an incredible 20+ year career as a mountain biker. He will always be cherished for his heart and love that he gave to his family, friends, and fans, as well as the incredible talent that he had on his bikes.

We will inform you at a later date regarding a celebration of his life.

In a statement on his instagram account, rider Greg Watts, who was with Jordie in Mexico said, “GUTTED. We lost a human that you hope everyone could be like. If he doesn’t make it to heaven then heaven doesn’t fucking exist. I had the pleasure of spending his last few hours alive with him along with @dberrecloth@braydenbarretthay and @lone_wolf_productions and he was truly enjoying what he loved. Perfect day of riding in a perfect location. Just didn’t seem real and I still can’t grasp it. My condolences go out to his family because I know he loved his brothers and I know he was their glue. #longlivejordie 🖤

Pro Rider Sam Hill posted, “One of the first and nicest guys I met when I first raced overseas back in 2001, you’ve been a friend ever since that day. You’ll always be a legend Jordie ❤️ rest easy mate.”
