Best Author – Singletrack Reader Awards 2019 Finalists

Whether it’s an epic tale of derring-do, a bit of thoughtful reflection, a humorous take on life on wheels, or even a technical review, we love a well written article. We were looking here for nominations for best author – recognising that sometimes it’s not just a single article that stands out, but a whole body of work. Web and magazine content were eligible for this category – here’s what made it through:

The Finalists – Best Author

Antony de Heveningham

Antony is known for both his turn of phrase and his well argued trail advocacy articles. Access rights might not seem all that entertaining, but under Antony’s pen the issues are both clear and amusing. Reviews are always a highlight, combining technical insight with gems such as ‘the Great Wheel Size Kerfuffle of the mid 2010s’.

Antony is more rad than his jumpers might suggest.

Jason Miles

Jason is a regular columnist in Singletrack Magazine, as well as occasional feature writer. He can be relied upon to turn an arduous lycra clad epic into an amusing tale of bodily disfunction. A healthy disrespect for authority is combined with an actual ability to get shit done, and his no nonsense northernness continues – earning him a nomination for the second year in a row, despite his fondness for disco slippers and riding Too Far.

KeepOnRollin

KeepOnRollin has been nominated for the single article ‘What If I Want To Die Every Day Of My Life?’, a powerful admission of the search for the sensation of ‘happy’. This article reached beyond the bike world, and as well as the nominations for this article, we received a number of emails upon publication thanking KeepOnRollin for this piece.

Amanda is our resident pedaller, who loves the climbs as much as the descents. No genre of biking is turned down, though she is happiest when at the top of a mountain with a wild descent ahead of her. If you ever want a chat about concussion recovery, dealing with a Womb of Doom or how best to fuel an endurance XC race, she's the one to email.
