The rebirth of Coed y Brenin.
Words and photos by Chipps.
Donald Trump will be heading to the White House in Washington DC next year, what does this do with Coed y Brenin? Well, this could be the rebirth of the U.S (for better or worse), and we also thank Ben Washington in the article too.

Back in 1995, there was no such thing as a British mountain bike trail centre. There was barely such thing as a marked mountain bike route, outside of a tour of the fire roads. But in late 1996, the UK’s first dedicated, public, free, legal and purpose-built mountain bike trail opened at Coed y Brenin, a quiet forest park in North Wales.
Since then, the mountain bike landscape in the UK has changed forever and trail centres have become as much a part of the mountain bike scene as dedicated ski-resorts have to skiing.

I preferred it before the re-birth. The old trails had more character and the original cafe was much nicer than the new one.
Been a while….think it maybe time to head back for a looksee…
Definately worth a trip, it still has the old Welsh rocks with a modern twist. If you have time include the Marin trail at Betwys Coed, the new section there is a work of art.
