Eurobike 2015: Pivot

It’s always great to see in the flesh (so to speak) things that have recently been announced via the interwebs – and so it was that at Eurobike we poked our noses into the Pivot stand for a sniff at the new Mach 6 Aluminium:

Impressively, Pivot claim that the Mach 6 Aluminium is  as stiff as its carbon counterpart, whilst only being a little heavier.They’ve got some brand new hydroforming tech on hand to allow some pretty mental shapes, with variable internal wall thicknesses too. That seat stay is certainly a piece of work. Cool little machined front mech mounts, and we always get a kick out of those off-set lower pivots.

The Carbon Mach 6 was also looking as tasty as expected. It looks perhaps a little more elegant than the alu version.  There’s an all-new rear triangle and linkage design, which is apparently 40% wider and 150% stiffer than the old one. Both the alloy and carbon bikes boast a Boost back end, too.  And that carbon protection plate also has a neat Di2 battery storage feature, as well as making internal cable routing a breeze. Sweet.Here’s the Mach 429 116mm of 29in trail/enduro bike. For no other reason than it’s GORGEOUS. It’s also Boost, and is 27.5+ capable if you’re buy-curious.
