2013 was going to be the year that I travelled less for work and rode from home more. I’m not entirely sure I achieved my goals, and last year’s wall planner still seems to be rather full of coloured dots, but I did ride from home more and I did travel within the UK just for fun a little more, too. Some of the one-off highlights include: some frozen, blue sky riding with Nigel Page on a Fort William February weekend, the ‘Croissant of Pain’ where I (unsuccessfully) tried to ride all of the Welsh trail centres in a weekend, racing at Mountain Mayhem’s new location of Gatcombe Park, riding the Dyfi Enduro for the umpteenth year running and a couple of other trips that you’ll have to read about later this year.If that was a year of not travelling very much, then I guess 2014 is going to be the year of travelling a lot more.
