Rab’s World – Mid season racing part one

Rab’s World – Mid season racing part one

Fort William Fat Tire Festival

I spend a large chunk of time each year traveling to ‘important’ races. Although I do try my best to keep things fun it can sometimes become serious. I love racing and training and I love the new format cross country races with short laps, man-made tracks, steep climbs and jumps. However, it’s refreshing from time to time to do something which reminds you why you started racing.

For me No Fuss Events do this really well. They keep the fun in racing by using different formats and cool tracks in big mountain biking country. It’s a great way to hang out with other mountain bikers, have a good time and still get the racing buzz. In 2013 No Fuss introduced the Fort William Fat Tire Festival by combining the classic 6 hour Endurance Downhill and 10 Under the Ben endurance race at the legendary Nevis Range. In addition to this they have added an Enduro the following day. ‘Enduro! Enduro!’ was run the day after the classic endurance races offering a full weekend of mountain biking.
