Here’s a jumbo look at some of the new stuff being shown at Madison’s iceBike* trade show this week… There’s a lot, so you might as well get comfy.
Park has a new Premium Rescue Tool, with valve core remover, piston retractor and more.
One for the tubeless fans with a compressor - a proper Park inflator head!
Thule's Pack and Pedal range works with front and full suspension.
Thule's clever roll-top pannier has this translucent blinkie pouch.
Don't have tons of room? How about this Thule folding towbar twin bike mount?
Folds out to take two 30kg bikes, complete with lights and number plate.
Madison is now carrying the Chariot range of convertible child joggers/trailers (even ski sledge versions)
Giro Republic is the new shoe from the big G. It’s not racing, it’s not mountain biking, but it’s somewhere in between. With a slight bowling shoe look and a nylon, walkable shoe, it’s probably too cool for touring, but that’s what it’ll be great for. That and gravel racing adventures of course…
The Giro Republic. Great? Or horrible? We're sure you'll tell us.
The Chamber seems a lot more low profile than when we last saw it.
Did the two weeks of spring allow for white shoes yet?
Bottom of the Republic. Replaceable rubbery bits.
Genesis showed the proto of its new Caribou bike.
That's not a snow bike. That's a woods bike. Apparently.
Still proudly Reynolds.
Lots of mud clearance - and that's not a slim tyre.
With 23 years as Editor of Singletrack World Magazine, Chipps is the longest-running mountain bike magazine editor in the world. He started in the bike trade in 1990 and became a full time mountain bike journalist at the start of 1994. Over the last 30 years as a bike writer and photographer, he has seen mountain bike culture flourish, strengthen and diversify and bike technology go from rigid steel frames to fully suspended carbon fibre (and sometimes back to rigid steel as well.)
What were Park smoking with the compressor gun? What we want: A normal, cheap inflator with a presta and schrader end. What we get? A supersoaker.
If i see those Hacks much more ‘mi bik iz saricin’ is going to apply
I like the Park gun, would love one for my workshop. Bet it’s silly money though.
One if those TruFlo mini track pumps looks more useful though.
Prefer the prototype colour scheme of the Genisis.. Shame they aren’t going with it.
That’s their ‘special’ colour scheme. All the road protos are that colour scheme too, as are the Madison/Genesis road team bikes. They do like to listen though.
Got a Hack in my LBS, keep looking at it and thinking fast pub bike commuter etc….BB7s needed though!
Hack do look good, but what’s with the black one. Is it a huge front ring or just pushing the chain alignment to the max?
Any more photos/info on that BB mounted chain keeper thingy? Ta.
I’m getting a shoe fetish. The Republic looks lovely. Any idea on price?
Republic is £99.99
That Park compressor head doesn’t look very practical unless the valve adaptor extends out of it. You really want about 8″ of flexible hose after the guage so you can reach through racks etc.
Yes definately prefer the proto genesis colour to that lemon sick.
Oh god Have I watched too much of my Missus’ sex and the city videos? I am in love with those Republics! Yummy dahling! Simply to die for!
Woo! Wait up! A hip flask holder?!? The colour is ok. Can live with it. Thankyou for making my week singletrack Bike fellers!(and lass!) Some lovely stuff to dream about, starting to like torqouise too, has a theraputic effect on me. ;0D
They missed a cover just for your spare tyres…,the Rubber Johnny!.Like the Caribou, maybe just wants the logos blanking out with a marker pen …Surely (Surly)??.
Can’t believe you didn’t mention the hip flask holder on the Caribou prototype.
I thought everyone had one of those… 🙂

Caribou looks nice in the ‘Lemonl brulée’. More refined than some of the other budget fatbikes around.
