The West Highland Way is one of the classic outdoor routes in Scotland: a 96 mile, predominantly off road track running from Milngavie (mul-guy) just north of Glasgow to Fort William, home of the UK’s highest mountain and the outdoor capital of the UK. The track is a classic walkers route and the West Highland Way race is held on the longest day each year where ultra runners race to Fort William.

WHW in 11hrs 45mins! Well done! I did it north to south with a pal over 2 days and a total time of 19hrs dead. We had a couple of mechanical issues and 1 bad fall so actual cycling time was just over 18hrs…but that was over 2 days and I was totally wasted by the end! I’d always fancied trying the WHW and then the Great Glen Way in 24hrs…but I seriously think it’d be almost impossible unless you had the time to properly train.
Once again – awesome job Rab! Double up next time for sure…. ATB GB
Wow – damn fine effort sir. Like the strava link for the racing 😉
Did it this year despite a slight mishap and lobbing myself into Loch Lomond while riding rather than carrying over a
rocky section.
