Weekender Woohoo!

Weekender Woohoo!

We’ve just unloaded the van after getting back from the 2011 Shimano Singletrack Classic Weekender. And what a weekend it was! Thanks to all who turned up to race, all the sponsors and the marshals and mountain rescue and catering and council and rangers and – eventually – the weather.

There’ll be a full report up soon, but here’s a quick taster of some of Saturday’s action…

Results should be up tonight on Mikrotime’s website.

  1. Check out baldysquirt looking like he means business in the photo.
Dave “the dude that slammed into the rock” is doing fine. I brought his car back to Sheff for him and he picked it up earlier tonight. The bones in his wrist were all jumbled up and they’ve had a good poke and a tug around (under general anaesthetic) and got them back roughly where they should be.
Nasty gash possibly from a brake lever entering his chest too.

Brilliant – Managed to get poke, tug, gash and enterered into one post.

  2. Tell Dave that if he ever “doesn’t want” Jasper I might be interested. Don’t know the bloke but am gald to hear he’s OK.

Jasper was good company (and more animated than some spectators 😉 whilst marshalling.

  3. many thanks to all that helped Dave out and minded that bloody, erm lovely dog for me 😉
do I look like i’m wearing marigolds in that pic ? rider #111 ?

  4. Great weekend despite being woefully unfit. I agree with the comment about the fast downhill section. It was a great opportunity to hare past those that hared past me on the uphills 🙂
