Weekender Woohoo!

Weekender Woohoo!

We’ve just unloaded the van after getting back from the 2011 Shimano Singletrack Classic Weekender. And what a weekend it was! Thanks to all who turned up to race, all the sponsors and the marshals and mountain rescue and catering and council and rangers and – eventually – the weather.

There’ll be a full report up soon, but here’s a quick taster of some of Saturday’s action…

Results should be up tonight on Mikrotime’s website.

  1. superb weekend again guys, thanks for all your efforts! super tough xc today but really fun… topped it all off nicely :o)

  2. Went along to promote SingletrAction and ended up being a marshall! Top day today, well done to those that organised it and big up to everyone who hauled themselves round the quarry 🙂

  3. Awesome weekend, also wanted to say how nice everyone was, chatting to people on the stands and the Singletrack guys have done a sterling job keeping everything running smoothly!

  4. Yep, fantastic weekend – probably the best STWeekender so far – seemed to recapture more of the fun and relaxed nature of the first one without getting rid of the better courses, bigger sponsor and bigger numbers. Great effort.

Was good to meet you Mugboo

  5. So gutted I couldn’t make it this year. It’s the only event I really want to go to anymore! Looking forward to next year.

  6. another great weekend overall! nice to see old friends, and meet new ones too. after seeing the XC course though, i’m really glad i decided to go back to marshalling rather than enter this year; i’d have struggled to do one lap of that in an hour! all those that entered have my utmost respect. i think it’s time i tried to push my fitness a bit further…

  7. Good to meet you Mr Vorex. Having raced and marshalled / gofored this event I reckon that marshalling / goforing is harder.

  8. lol @ Will the firestarter :o) Cracking fire, think I kept enough residual heat inside me to keep me warm through the night.

Awesome weekend, thanks to the guys from Madison for the hospitality in including Jake for his help with our erection….of the tent lol

  9. Awesome time at the STWeekender, will DEFINITELY be back next year! Thanks to all those who helped organise etc, and the rangers for lugging about the sheer amount of stuff we had between 2 of us!! Bike is clean, greased and ready for the next ride tonight 😛

  10. Thanks for the great riding over the weekend, still kicking myself for falling off a log on the trials…. Will focus more next time! Seemed like an ever more varied mix of riders this year than previously which is great. I hope the dude that slammed into the rock is ok, sounded really nasty. Loved the cross country course, especially that flat out downhill section from the grass, what speed, what danger! Already looking forward to next year.

  11. Once again a Classic Weekender. Well done to everyone involved with organising and running the event.

Thanks also to Simon M, Baldysquirt etc for their hospitality.

    Looking forward to next year!
