Countrytracks visit Lee Quarry

The other week a BBC film crew descended on Lee Quarry, our local trail centre and home of the Singletrack Classic Weekender. They were there to film local trials prodigy and Inspired Bikes rider Ali C for an segment of the Country Tracks programme, presented by record breaking round-the-world cyclist Mark Beaumont.

They’d been checking out some of what Lancashire has to offer, with a visit to the Singing Ringing Tree and a quick look at the birth of the Temperance Movement at Fitzpatrick’s Bar in Rawtenstall as well as seeing the developments at the Quarry.

Although windy conditions meant Ali couldn’t show off his skills on the new pump track to maximum effect he shared a bit of knowledge with Mark and taught him a few tricks. Check out the gallery below…

If you’d like to see the segment then you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled on BBC1 at 11am on a Sunday morning because it’ll be appearing at some point over the next few months. If that clashes with your bike riding schedule then the programme will be available on the BBC iPlayer if you fancy a bit of informative country side broadcasting at a time of your own choosing.
