Singletrack Subscribers – Delays UPDATED

Singletrack Subscribers – Delays UPDATED

We’ve been getting some reports from our Print Subscribers that they’ve had delays in getting their copies of Issue 62 through the post. First off we’d like to apologise to anyone that’s been affected – we’re very sorry for that. A big bonus of being a subscriber to Singletrack is the fact that you get your copy before it appears in the shops and that hasn’t happened with Issue 62.

There are two reasons for the delay. One is the backlog at the Royal Mail due to the recent heavy snowfall across the UK. The second has been a delay at the publishers.

To explain, what usually happens is that subscriber copies are collected from the publishers by the Royal Mail two days before copies are allowed to go out to the general newstrade and bike shops. That means that subscribers should always get their copies through the post before they’re generally available. The fact the publishers were a day late getting the magazine published, combined with the snow and it being Royal Mail’s busiest week of the year thanks to the Christmas rush has meant it just hasn’t worked that way.

By way of apology, here’s some lovely wallpaper from the Sicily feature as a little gift from us to you…

  1. Dear Mark, another day and nothing. I’ve been buying STW since day 1 and have been a subscriber since about issue 10. That, I know, doesn’t give me any special rights, but it does indicate my loyalty to the mag.
Over the last year or so the subscriber delivery dates have slipped behind the shop availability dates (well they bloody have with mine) but this issues non appearance has become beyond all excuse. Ban me if you want for bad language, but I’m ***** sick of reading excuses and apologies, when is my magazine going to arrive?

  2. this will be the most anticipated issue ever! lets hope it lives up to the hipe! 😉 nothing in chester yet…

though its not really like its a life and death situation, its only a glossy mag for silly boys and girls who like doing silly things outdoors on bikes

  3. South Oxfordshire is still an ST free zone. WhatMTB is filling the gap for the time being. Ho hum. I might even have to get MBR when WMTB runs out of reading. RM doing it’s bit to bolster the bike mag market by forcing me to buy mags I normally might not. Recession busting, don’t you know!

  4. Mark, I’m sorry about my outburst. The frustration is real, I don’t know when I last received a copy before they appeared in the shops, but my language was inexcusable and far more the result of strong drink than the non-appearance of a mag. I’ll get back in touch after Christmas if it’s not arrived by then.
And I’ll make a new years resolution, I won’t post when drunk.
