We’ve been getting some reports from our Print Subscribers that they’ve had delays in getting their copies of Issue 62 through the post. First off we’d like to apologise to anyone that’s been affected – we’re very sorry for that. A big bonus of being a subscriber to Singletrack is the fact that you get your copy before it appears in the shops and that hasn’t happened with Issue 62.
There are two reasons for the delay. One is the backlog at the Royal Mail due to the recent heavy snowfall across the UK. The second has been a delay at the publishers.
To explain, what usually happens is that subscriber copies are collected from the publishers by the Royal Mail two days before copies are allowed to go out to the general newstrade and bike shops. That means that subscribers should always get their copies through the post before they’re generally available. The fact the publishers were a day late getting the magazine published, combined with the snow and it being Royal Mail’s busiest week of the year thanks to the Christmas rush has meant it just hasn’t worked that way.
By way of apology, here’s some lovely wallpaper from the Sicily feature as a little gift from us to you…

Still not arrived on sunny Wirral here.”
Its not sunny on the Wirral now & neither is my copy of ST here either 🙁
No sign of mine in grim Worksop either 🙁
Thanks one and all for your continued patience.
To keep you up to speed with Issue 62 despatch, the current position is that we’re awaiting an official report from Royal Mail, regarding the Singletrack account.
We have been promised feedback by first thing tomorrow morning, at the latest and will pass on the outcome of this.
Thanks again
Jamie
Has nobody mentioned the fact that it says “Issue 61 November” on the subscriber copy?
Still nothing here in a snowy again Innerleithen 🙁
No sign of mine in grim Worksop either

Still nowt in sunny shropshire
Still nothing here in Aberystwtyh, nothing new there though……………off to download pdf 😉
That should say Aberystwyth, cold fingers !!!!
Nothing arrived in Newbury yet….. any chance we could have a nice desktop to download each month??
Royal Mail is in melt down due to their restructuring Our Mail centre (Wolverhampton)is rammed and Glossy mags are going no where, they are sending mail to our office to sort but the bods here are to tired to complete deliverys never mind sort mail centre work.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but STW mags are a ickle fish in a big pond 🙁
No copy here in Moray either (though it is on the shelves in Tescos)
However it is not ST at fault – it is Royal mail, I order a few Xmas pressies for people at the start of December, a few have trickled through but the RM must have a pile of stuff to be delivered to me!
I am heading south tomorrow evening, so at least I will have a copy of ST to read when I get home in the new year.
(and have to post on the pressies that arrive here while I am away that I was going to take south – cheers RM)
The more frustrating aspect to this is that the whole point of using the Presstream service (a bulk mail service designed specifically for magazines) is that it’s US (or rather our distributor) who does 75% of all the sorting for the RM BEFORE they get collected. So in effect we’ve done 3/4 of RM’s job already before they pick them up. 8 working days is unacceptable no matter what the weather has been like. My calls to the business line at RM are starting to get particularly grumpy and demanding. We will keep you all updated and once again, from all of us here at STHQ, we are really sorry for the delay and as powerless as we are to move the RM along any faster we are doing everything we can to try and not only sort this issue out but also to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Mine came today finally 🙂
I noticed MBUK tweeted today that they’re having similar subs delivery issues too.
Still nothing.
Still nothing in Leeds either
Not seen mine yet either (N Yorks)
TBH there seems something strange going on with RM and Mag distribution at the moment as even the Radio Times has been late & Cycling Plus in my local Sainsburys turned out to be the US edition?
So I got it for free as it wasn’t showing up as listed on their system 😮
I know how you feel Mark “paying for a service you don’t get”
Still nothing (West Yorks) 🙁
