Here's what's in this issue

Issue 61 will shortly be on sale in lots of places but if you are Premier Subscriber then you can access all the extra features that we’ve stuffed into the digital versions right here.

Bike Test – 2011 Bikes

Three bikes get the Singletrack treatment this issue and here are the video clips to view here or download in m4v format. Unfortunately we don’t have the video clip yet for the Nuke Proof Mega as our test bike had to go back double quick sharp like as it was one of only two in the country and was in great demand earlier this month.

Alt Racing

Benji gives us the lowdown on the new breed of mountain bike race formats. Keep your lycra skinsuit under the bed. These events offer racing with all the rewards and none of the negatives. In this video Benji and Matt head for Fort William for a new kind of DH endurance event. Some might even say it’s the future of mountain biking 🙂

This issue is particularly stunning in terms of photography, even if we say so ourselves. We know that many of you appreciate a good picture on your desktop and so we’ve created a couple of desktop wallpaper images from two of our favourite images from this issue.

The first is the opening shot of our Route Guide feature – Berkshire Woodlands.

Singletrack Owner/Publisher

What Mark doesn’t know about social media isn’t worth knowing and his ability to balance “The Stack” is bested only by his agility on a snowboard. Graphs are what gets his engine revving, at least they would if his car wasn’t electric, and data is what you’ll find him poring over in the office. Mark enjoys good whisky, sci-fi and the latest Apple gadget, he is also the best boss in the world (Yes, he is paying me to write this).

  1. “Unfortunately we don’t have the video clip yet for the Nuke Proof Mega as our test bike had to go back double quick sharp like after the only other one in the UK was stolen in London earlier this month.”

No… not really. A Scalp (our DH bike) got stolen – there are only 2 Mega’s, and they had to go to Italy (not Spain) for testing last week. Back in the UK now though.

  2. “Ah.. That will be edited in a mo… it’s NOT yet on sale in lots of places other than as a digital issue. This story was originally planned to be published a few days hence.. Hang on…

I see it hasn’t been edited, it is on sale in WHSmith but hasn’t yet dropped through the letterbox… 🙁
