There are two types of British mountain biker.
Those who want the snow to stay.
Those that want it go away.
I’m firmly a member of the latter.

Yes, it’s all very nice and lovely and scenic out there. But if I want nice and scenic experiences in the snow I’d rather do it on foot.
Riding a bike in this much snow is just a good walk spoiled. Like golf.
I miss riding in The Filth. Riding in Filth can be brilliant. Sketchy. Dangerous. Testing. Rewarding. Everything goes faster when you go wrong in Filth. And you have more of say in if/when/how you go wrong. And the landings aren’t comfortable. There’s no safety net.
I’m sure I’ll miss it when it’s gone but right now I say No to Snow.

A bad day’s cycling isn’t good for my work 😉
…there’s no doubt that us Brits truly are a nation of endless complainers
If not snow, how about sheet ice?
Snow is ace, it leaves your bike clean, its more grippy than you expect, it brings out great comedy moments, for example when your riding mates stop and put a leg out on the snow drift to rest only to fall through into deep snow (there’s nothing funnier than watching someone else fall). Also its the only time of year that I can actually drift my bike round corners making me feel like a riding god. Therefore snow is ace, case closed.
Its all good – unless its several inches and even riding in a straight line becomes a struggle. not so fun. bring back the filth any day!
you cant beat a bit of filth when you ride the old bike hard ,and your slipping in and out off corners, your wet and so is your old bike!your sweating like a goodgen, your pumping and shes grinding.and when you ve finnished, you can sit back and think how good that felt……remind you off somthing?….give me filth any day !!!
Love the snow. Trains don’t work so get to stay at home and ride the bike.
What’s that sentence that uses the words “faster” and “filth” together?! Not familar with that…..
