Shanaze Reade Urges Kids to Lighten Up

Shanaze Reade has teamed up with Ready Brek to support the Department for Transport’s ‘Be Bright Be Seen’ campaign.

The Ready Brek sponsored video stars schoolchildren, a headteacher, a Bike It officer and Olympian Shanaze Reade.

Reade is shown in the video urging children to make themselves more visible to drivers by wearing retro-reflective ankle bands, clip-on reflectors, arm bands and stickers.

Ready Brek said it is supporting the Department for Transport’s ‘Be Bright Be Seen’ campaign “to ensure that wearing fluorescent and reflective gear is as much a part of a child’s daily routine as a healthy breakfast – making sure they’re ready for anything the day might bring.”

  1. They might actually need to give children some “bright stuff” then. I asked for some when we were promoting the Tour of Britain at school and was told “We don’t do that anymore”. 🙁

Reflective stickers/arm bands etc seem quite expensive, so maybe some subisdising would be an encouragement too?
