Singletrack Scoops Top Honours In Industry Awards!

Nine years of deadlines, lost weekends and midnight scribblings has been rewarded for Singletrack in the form of a Bikebiz Award for ‘Best Consumer Magazine’
The award was voted on by a panel of 50 bike industry luminaries, and it’s fair to say that we’re quite chuffed with it.

So a big ‘thanks’ to all of our writers, photographers and unseen, unpaid helpers over the years who have made it possible to get this far.

And now. WORLD DOMINATION! Ahem…

With 23 years as Editor of Singletrack World Magazine, Chipps is the longest-running mountain bike magazine editor in the world. He started in the bike trade in 1990 and became a full time mountain bike journalist at the start of 1994. Over the last 30 years as a bike writer and photographer, he has seen mountain bike culture flourish, strengthen and diversify and bike technology go from rigid steel frames to fully suspended carbon fibre (and sometimes back to rigid steel as well.)

  5. Yes – well done singletrack people. How did Wiggle win that? Who voted? It’s strange – they used to be good before their subtle price rises and when they didn’t advertise perpetually out-of-stock items just to get the traffic in from Google. Now they’re the last place you turn to, surely? Isn’t the STW classifieds forum the #1 online retailer anyway?

    The awards were voted on by 50 ‘bike industry luminaries’ in a secret ballot, so who knows?

    Dave, I like your suggestion about the Classifieds. We’ll nominate ourselves for that too next year.

  7. Best High Street Chain. EVANS??? Wtf…????. If I dumped a string of sausages in the high street it would be a better chain than Evans! Biggest maybe, but best…?
