GREEN! My New Long Termer

Now that the Genesis Alpitude has been finished with it was time to get another Long Term project in. And after a LOT of deliberation here is what I’ve gone for…

VIRSAPrestigeGreen
Kinesis Decade Virsa.

I’m going to build it up as a All Day Mildy-Hardcore Hardtail Trail Ripper. Or in other words a bike for doing lots of fun riding with. The head angle should be slack enough and the BB low enough to be a decent technical descender. There’s clearance for fat tyres. Hopefully it’ll build into a bike that’s not too heavy to ride all day (or too twangily light or sketchy). It’s available in a lanky-friendly 19in-ish size (my only slight niggle with the Alpitude was its not-quite-big-enough-for-me).

The only potential mini-problem that I need to bear in mind is that the seat angle might be a bit slack (especially if running a 130mm-ish fork). But hopefully with an inline seat post and maybe an adjustable travel fork this will be fine.

The only build kit I’ve decided on at the mo is a set of Mavic Crossmax ST wheels and a pair of the new 2010 WTB Weirwolf tubeless-ready tyres.
