I just bought two Fizik Gobi XM saddles from a Charity seller on eBay

These are £100 full price, but these particular ones, whilst brand new, are "test" saddles, so odd colours and with "TEST" emblazoned on the top - for £15, who's complaining!!!

There are few different models available from the same seller - apparently donated by the importer/manufacturer:

Just to make these even more attractive, I've found that even the (same) test saddles are going for over £50 elsewhere! 😀

Even I draw the line at that design. I suppose you could add the letters 'E' and 'S' so that folk don't know that you're being a cheapskate. 🙂

I'm relying on the graphics wearing off pretty quick on the MTB's anyway - especially on my singlespeed where the chafing as a result of my rapidly whirring calves will soon see them off!!

😀

Maybe worth another thread, along the lines of "does seat colour matter….especially when you're riding along?"

If it's leather, leather dye surely.

Are the 29er specific versions big enough to have 'TESTICLES' printed on them?

Could just get it recovered and it would still be cheaper than the rrp....

Thanks velocipede, worth a punt but booked marked for that saddle recovering! .. cheers monkeyboyjc, got a number of gobi's that need recovering. (Hopefully) Their much cheaper than a new one and won't need breaking in again!

PeterPoddys brother did a how to a while back but it looked like hard work

Ordered... Nice one OP...

I needed a new perch for my road bike...

I already have a sharpie so I shall just hand both over to my mates for the obligatory redecoration once it arrives...

I'm a San Marco Aspide man, but got one of their 'test' saddles on my winter/commuter. Don't care what that bike looks like and it was £30 (new, unused) rather than £120.

Still can't decide whether to do this or not, it's a good price, but the "test" print! 😆

Hmmm, bright yellow saddle with test on it?

My LBS has THESE on offer for those who care about what their bike looks like 🙂

I have to say following z1ppy's link above I am tempted to have a DIY pop at re-covering it down the line perhaps, if I decide it's a good fit but simply too "aesthetically challenging"...

I'm now wondering just how hard-wearing that "TEST" lettering is and if it might just rub away with a bit of vigorous sitting...

I've ordered one, just going to change it to 'testes'.

@cookeaa - I reckon a combination of mud and "sitting" will work - I was thinking of rubbing mud in manually!

If it's comfy, why worry - like you, I'm going to wait and see - you never know, it might look ok!! 😀

Wow - mine arrived today - I'm well happy! Colour matches one bike perfectly, other not at all - but I'm hoping my saddle woes are over!! 😀

I have to say I couldn't be more happy with mine - I should have tried a Gobi years ago!
