You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
The sharp eyed amongst you may have noticed a few clues over the past fortnight or so, but I think it's about time we had another Peaks Pootle!
So, on November 2nd we'll have a little run out from Hope, 10am. Meet at the car park next to the loos - conveniently across the road from the woodbine cafe and 18 Bikes.
As always, it's a social affair - cakes are encouraged - and the normal Pootle principles stand ( though I can't find th original ones, my Google fu is week today)
Basically...
If you're fast, be prepared to wait at the top of hills and count people through
If you're slow, you're not alone - bring banter! You'll be with good company. And hora.
Basically, I set up the Pootles for those people at the back. We don't have people at the back in a Pootle. We have a rest, a chat, enjoy the view.
See you there!
My google-fu is teh awsumz
1) if you're fast, hold the gates and count the folks through
2) if you're slow - have something to talk about with the other 20 people with you
3) bring cake
Pootles aren't a typical 'group ride'. I started them 'cos I hated being the person at the back. I wanted a group ride for the people at the back. There aren't any people at the back in a pootle.
I'm in.
Thank you Mr W.
\o/
Wooooohoooooo!!!!! I'm in!
*sad when thinks of Bunnyhop* 😥 Gonna miss you girl xx
Hoping to make it!
Rigid compatible route?
Rigid compatible route?
Yes, I'll be rigid
Sounds good, if I can get a bike to work properly in time!
Yes, I'll be rigid
Dirty
It's a rigid compatible route. Except for the 40ft double and 20ft step down....
I'd say it's 'red' graded
A Sunday pootle. In that case I'm a definite maybe. 😀

Dirty
Probably, I do tend that way
To quote my wife.... 'If you must, do it on the Sunday cos then the shops are open if we need anything for decorating at the weekend'.
Would really like to go however I normally travel via public transport and the first train of the day wont get me there in time. Anyone travelling from Derby area?
I'm away in Cuba so can't join you all. I'll drink some rum for you though 🙂
Damnit, I'm in Wales that weekend. Have fun.
Any clue as to the route?
I'm a possibly maybe depending on expected distance (or more importantly, which hills!) and my fitness, I've barely ridden for a year!

Maybe, pending the above.
bugger, I am away in the lakes with a load of loud sweary blokes from the north. which will be ace tho.
"ladybower classic" is the rough plan. There will be people of all abilities so please come along
In.
"ladybower classic"
Better dust off my climbing legs then!
Registers interest, but I need to check the calendar...
I'm in.
Will be my first mtb ride in quite a while so I'm better off on a pootle than my usual re-introduction after a break of trying to follow @nosedive in the dark down some precipitous flight of greasy off-camber steps he hasn't bothered to mention.
EDIT: suppose I'd better check the bike still works and consider fitting tyres that actually have some tread...
Me and my brother may be along if thats ok. Sounds like agreat idea, and I need to do all the pootling I can!
Will confirm for sure closer to the time.
Doing a stall at Peatys do in Sheffield to try and make more room in the garage so we cant make it
Potential yes, but will confirm closer to the time. I likes a good Pootle me.
I'll probably be at Peaty's thing too. Pretty sure 18bikes is going to be closed for the same reason.
We can look through their window.
The shop's upstairs, so stand on Hora's shoulders. 😉
Will check the calendar, but will.......
Gah! Sudden realisation that I am down in Bristol visiting my Sister. Bu66er.
Should be a good weekend though, as I am trying to persuade my Bro-in-Law to sneak off to Cwm Carn for the morning to try out his recently purchased Trek Superfly....
Aw thanks.*sad when thinks of Bunnyhop* Gonna miss you girl xx
Will be thinking of you all.
As a regular pootler I'm aiming for a summer pootle 2015 - bring it on 🙂
Crikey - summer pootle 2015?! I'll have a 2 year old and a two month old. Jane, you're an optimist!
Pants! Just about the only weekend I can't make. Might have to send Redwoods on her own.
I've been wanting to join a peaks pootle for ages, but I can't come on this one because I've just had major surgery to my spine. Looking forward to being back on the MTB next spring.
Bump for the friday afternoon crowd
Will there be cake, rain and mud? 🙂
And flat trails
Oh pleeeeeeeeaaaaase let my wife not be working a weekend shift 🙂
I'm in .....almost.
Probably 2 or 3 of us coming over from N. Lincs for the Pootle on some proper hills. Some may be weather dependent, but I expect to be there whatever, as the scenery is better and the mud is less sticky than ours.
I'd got myself all teed up for this and got a call yesterday to say I could go in this Tuesday to have my gallbladder removed. So that it until chrimble for me at least.. Bugger.
Count Me in.
I will try not to repeat last year when I was sick on the first climb 😳
Boo hiss, I shall be peddling the mountains of Dorsetshire.
I have a cuppa and a Dorset knob to mark the day.
Edit : double post
Get in, wifey off - I'm in.... result.
Please can we ride up and down Rushup Edge all day.............................
This sounds perfect, Ill make the trip over for sure! See you there! 🙂
Could be a goer, will check with SWMBO.
so stand on Hora's shoulders.
He'll be somewhere else if past experience can be relied on. 🙂
Me and my boy will be there all being well.

Looking forward to getting video evidence of Tom's gate-opening abilities 🙂
Oh poop, I'll be away in Wales trying to keep up, a pootle would have been much more appropriate for current levels of 'fitness'.
Last years was grand, enjoy yourselves and if in doubt - go 🙂
Just seen this!! I'm a Definite, maybe!!
Anyone for brownies?? 😀
Looking forward to getting video evidence of Tom's gate-opening abilities
He's looking forward to it. 🙂
Anyone for brownies??
Tom says yes please.
He'll be somewhere else if past experience can be relied on.
Cheeky- that was only once and because the ride leader didn't heed the warning about hurricane-force winds on the tops of Cut-Gate 😉
Brownies? Yes please.
Hora - you've been AWOL more than once on our rides...
We're not riding rushup edge. In fact, I don't think I'll be rushing back to Edale any time soon.
We're doing some fun, challenging trails but nothing that will kill any one new to group riding. I'll properly plot it later to get distance and stuff worked out.
Oh, derby day... footy or bikes, footy or bikes...?
OK folks. So, the planned route is 19 miles with. 2400ft climb. However, that distance has surprised me so there are a number of short cuts available.
One removes 500ft and 3 miles, the second 400ft and 3.2 miles. There are more too, but we can look at these on the day if folk need them.
Don't be put off by the distance, at least 6 miles is on quiet tarmac linking our bumpy bits up.
I shall ask MrsMomo to sign my pass for this, I've been meaning to get out on a pootle for a while now!
Not sure what the weather's doing for this one just yet. Still, it'll be good.
Just choosing a pub for post ride pints....
Pass signed, I'm in 🙂
I'm in it to win it.
I might make it across for this in which case I'll see you in Hope. If DCC hasn't levelled it before then.
Is it going to be a mass kinder trespass?
I'm in. I'll be at the back 8)
I don't think I'm going to make it... 🙁
Rachel
I don't think I'm going to make it...

🙁
I'm sure that all you pootlers won't mind but I've asked nbt if you could all have a minute's silence, to remember our great mtbing friend and regular pootler Chris Turner.
I thank you.
I'll be passing round the memorial jelly babies so we can raise a toast
Me and cat are in. No one has asked if we're doing potatoe alley or the beast 🙂
See you Sunday
Karl
Bunnyhop - of course.
Hello folks, me again!
Just a few more details for you to prepare you for the Pootle experience...
10am at the main car park in Hope. It's small-ish but we should be ok. I've not yet counted up how many people are coming though last time out we had 52 and we coped; obviously the chance of a mechanical goes up though.
Please bring spares and tools. Strap loose bits tightly to the bike - we once had a half hour wait (and a long run for me) to find an errant garmin.
As always we'll have a little collection - just a few pennies for the mountain rescue.
And we'll go to the pub after! Either the Travellers or the Old Hall. I'll decide later.
Looking forward to it 🙂
Oh..
I'm in!
My vote's for the Old Hall as they have better beer and I can have a fish finger butty
Have fun guys!
Old Hall it is then - they're expecting us for butties!
Haven't got pass agreed yet. Must remember to ask tonight.
Count me in as we so enjoyed last years, we shall bring Lincolnshire sunshine fingers crossed
I'll be there having just changed my plans for the weekend
Just wondered if anyone is going up from the Derby area?
Train isn't an option, looks like I'm watching the footy instead!
