I got some Briskers, don't know about them being super warm, though.
If you can stand £23 odd, the Galibier Barrier III winter gloves are warm, if a little bit chunkier.

Silk inners will vastly improve any gloves. I've been out for four hours today n frozen fog with Gore glv s and inners with no problems.

I was bought these for Xmas last year. I was sceptical but I've used them down to -8 and they've been great. Only thing to note is that if you take them on/off a lot, you might get cold hands as they obviously work by your hands being damp

I find them good on the road too - not too thick for gears /braking but the neoprene gives some nice cushioning still.

Been pleasantly surprised with the Decathlon BTwin gloves... I think they're the 700s. Not the prettiest gloves but they've been warm enough. That said I've been wearing some Shimano Pro winter gloves that cost me around 30 quid in -4 temps recently and they've been great.

The polaris windproof/waterproof gloves in their sale recently are pretty warm. Maybe not arctic warm, and they size quite small.

Not bike specific gloves but the
Wenaas Odin
or the
Skytec argon
work gloves are good.

My go-to gloves for Winter have always been Pearl Izumi.

Cyclone down to about 6C http://www.pearlizumi.co.uk/men-s-cyclone-gel-glove
Elite Softshell below that http://www.pearlizumi.co.uk/men-s-elite-softshell-gel-glove

Last (and function) better than anything else I've had. Designs have all changed since I bought mine. Not cheap either.

Those Galibier gloves look a bargain.

Does anyone know if the Galibier's linings stay inside the outers when you take your hands out? It can be a right pain/ faff/ annoyance trying to restuff disembowelled gloves.

Yes they do stay inside. I think they are attached.

I used a similar pair of Polaris for the first time tonight, really nice!
For 8 quid these look good...

These are the ones I used. Bit expensive at 13 quid.

just to round this thread off in case anyone stumbles upon it looking for the same advice...

i went with the galibier winter gloves. for the cash they are a bargain, they are definitely warm but i do get a bit of chill on the very end of my fingertips. not super painful like i've had in the past but definitely feelable.

sizing they seem quite big, i went with a med as i'm on the cusp of med/large and they are quite loose. my only real criticism are the palm pads which i find way to bulky for me and compromise my grip on the drop bars.

if i paid a lot of cash, castelli boa type cash, i'd be cross but for what galibier cost i think they are great. just wish they had no pads on the palm.
