A friend has asked if Id build her some wheels for her CX bike to keep road tyres mounted on for days she just wants to go out and pound the black top.
I was planning on Open Pros and Sapim Race spokes, but not sure about hubs. The CX is disc braked, so they obviously need rotor mounts.
I dont particularly like Hopes and TBH she's only 60Kgs so doesnt need anything quite so burly. Budget I guess £150 for front and rear.
XT arent that heavy are they?
DT Swiss too spendy
Others? Anyone do any flimsy "CX"y kind of hubs?
Or even something off the shelf for the right price...
I'm using A2Z disc hubset. Considerably lighter than Hope, quieter and a bit cheaper.
Superstar? A2Z? Novatec?
Edit: I'm also using A2Z on the MTB, and I rate them. Reckon they'd be great for cross.
ebay specials?
I like novatec.
A2Z soud the right kind of thing too.
Shimano xt 785. Long lasting, a feeehub body not made from cheese, and cheap as chips from rose and the like. And they come with the best qr in the business.
dont kinesis do some complete cx disc wheelsets.
just seen those superstar ones - seem very good vfm for the Alex rimmed ones and the crest ones look v tidy.
off the shelf looks appealing for saving money. I build my own, but Its not for economical reasons really.
