This bike has really got under my skin, not sure why either as I don't think they're that special...yet I'm besotted! Sadly, it'll be for my wife and not me 😥

Perhaps it's all about the classic lines?

Stoatsbrother.. Thanks for the link, it will keep me busy for a while.
hopefully we will both be able to add a couple of pics to it in the future.

Funnily enough reason Iam thinking about getting one is related to a really old Carrera £0 bike i used for a week or so,a while back.

I can't believe I've been driving through Calver, unaware of the Cotic Presence...I'm such a slender appendage at times. I wonder if they do finance...that way I could make sneak payments to get past the wife's HOSAS?

I'm hoping their new Solaris (29er) has just a little of what the Soul has.
March seems like such a long way away though. 😐

Thanks for all the replies...

Sizing ? I have looked through the thread that Klunk posted, but they all seem to giants asking the q's.

At 5'9 all my other bikes are 18" and I am really happy with their sizing, however I was hoping if i got a Soul i could get away with a 16" as i have always fancied having a more chuckable hard tail, but I don't want to have to use a laid back seat post (wiffletree) as I want an uppy downy post.. Anybody about the same hieght ride a 16"

Cheers

I'm 5'9 and a bit...and have a medium, with a layback post and a 90mm stem. Most on here around my height seem to run mediums with shorter stems, inline posts with a gert stack of spacers. So I guessing I like my position pretty stretched, but i am a bit of a roadie and like my stems slammed!

Lol at righog.

There was a thread about sisters recently. This one I approve of...

Souls are brilliant. I love mine. Can't wait for the Solaris neither.

Now, is that another sister or a cousin...

A sister with longer legs ??... Nice

I have just quickly totted up a potential build, with XT, Fox RL 140's and and uppy downy post...£2,200 bloody hell !

I think it will be a frame swap with some new forks for my build.

Here's mine, I returned to the Soul after owning an original for 6 years, without incident and with lots of good biking memories. Got FS curious and plumped for "the best engineered frame you could buy" which lasted 6 months before breaking. Back to the soul then, and it's interesting after riding an FS then back to the Soul to see how they compare. Needless to say the Soul, despite costing 1/4 of the FS, is a supremely better bike.

It is indeed a dog kennel. None of my dogs have even gone inside it, though. It serves very little purpose.

Righog - re sizing the Cotic website (under the sizing tab) says the 16" is good for up to 5'9" but I suspect that is with a 90mm stem. So in theory yeah you can. At just under 6' I'm just within a medium. But I need a layback pin and wide-ish bars (well 695 is wide-ish for me) to do that (70mm stem). It all depends on what you like.

The best thing to do is speak/email to Cy/Paul and they will set you straight. They convinced me to go medium when I was swithering. They do know what they are talking about!

Maybe they have difficulty in undoing the latch...

Only reason I got a Soul was becuase I was trying to put longer forks on my Explosif and it was upsetting the geometry too much. I spoke to Cy and he explained it was exactly that reason which led him to develop the Soul. So the genetic link is there.
